You upload a scanned copy of a printed book that you own. We convert it into a structured chapter — text, figures, questions and their answers — and place it in your account, where it opens only in the ChapterKit app on your signed-in device. You can read it, select from it and print sheets and question papers from it for your own studies and teaching.
By ticking the box on the upload form you confirm, for each book, that:
We record this declaration with the upload (time, account, the wording you accepted, and the IP address and browser it came from). We do not check the copyright status of your book and we take no responsibility for how you use what we return to you.
ChapterKit is not a publishing or distribution service. It does not make books available to other users, it does not sell converted books, and it may not be used to produce copies for anyone other than the account holder. Sheets and question papers you export are for your own classes. Accounts used to distribute converted books, or used by more than one person, may be closed.
Schools, tutoring centres, libraries and publishers convert material under a written agreement that sets out who may access the converted books and on what terms. Write to us before uploading on behalf of an institution.
You see the price of a conversion (per page, including any answer-key pages) before you pay, and you pay once per upload. Conversion is not instant: every chapter is read, matched and checked before it is marked Ready.
A conversion works from your scan, so its quality depends on the scan. Where a word, a figure or an answer comes out wrong, the app lets you correct it yourself — edit any text, replace a figure from the original page, undo any change — and the correction follows you to every device and every sheet. Payments are for the conversion work and are not refunded. You are welcome to start with a chapter, or a few pages, and send the rest once you have seen the result.
You sign in with a one-time code; there is no password. Converted books are stored encrypted on your device, and on our own server for your account only; they are deleted when you delete the account. What we keep, and for how long, is set out in the privacy policy.
We may update these terms; the date at the top tells you when. Questions: [email protected].
