ChapterKit · last updated 02 October 2026
ChapterKit converts scanned textbook chapters that you upload into a digital edition you read in the ChapterKit app. This page says what we keep, why, and how to remove it.
Your mobile number or email address. It is your account: we send one-time sign-in codes to it and use it to tell your books from everyone else's. There are no passwords.
Your phone. When you sign in on the app we record the phone's model and a public key the phone generates for us, so that your books open only on that phone. If the phone supports it, we also receive an attestation from Apple or Google that the app is genuine. We do not read your contacts, location, photos or anything else on the phone.
Your uploads. The PDF you upload and the digital chapter made from it are stored on our server so the app can download the chapter. Some steps of the conversion are carried out for us by specialised service providers, who process your pages on our behalf only to convert them; your pages and chapters are never published or shown to other users. The scanned PDF is kept with your book so that you can correct figures from its pages in the app; it is deleted when you delete your account. Corrections you make in the app (edited text, replaced figures) are stored with the book in the same way.
Payments. Payments are taken by our payment provider on their pages. We receive the order and payment identifiers, never card or bank details.
Nothing else. No advertising identifiers, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no crash reporting, no cookies except the one that keeps you signed in on this website.
Downloaded chapters are stored in the app's private storage, encrypted with a key that never leaves the phone. Screenshots and screen recording of the app are blocked on Android. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored.
Your account, its phone record and your converted chapters stay until you delete the account. Sign-in codes expire after ten minutes. Web sessions last thirty days from sign-in; the app stays signed in until you sign out, move your books to another device or delete the account. An upload that is not paid for within thirty days is deleted, and the book disappears from My books.
In the app: open the menu on My books and choose Delete account. On this website: sign in and use Delete my account at the bottom of My books. Either one removes your account, your phone record and every converted chapter from our server immediately and cannot be undone. Details: /delete-account.
